FIPP World Media Congress 2024 spotlight: Dotdash Meredith’s Dr. Jon Roberts

Join us in the beautiful seaside town of Cascais, Portugal on June 4th-6th for the 46th FIPP World Media Congress. Relax and network with peers, sharing insights and knowledge amidst a spectacular setting, as well as participating in a unique conference with a world class agenda and speaker roster. Full details here.

As we edge ever closer to the full reveal of our speaker program for the FIPP World Media Congress 2024, our focus today falls on one of our keynote speakers, Dr Jon Roberts.

Jon is the Chief Innovation Officer for Dotdash Meredith and was previously President of the media giant’s Health & Finance portfolio. In short, he’s been at the coal face and knows first hand what it takes to build, launch and innovate across a range of market leading titles.

He’s out of this world….but not in the way you might think.

Somewhat unusually – no, make that very unusually – Jon spent 10 years as a theoretical physicist focused on making dark matter predictions for the hadron collider at CERN, and cosmic ray predictions for the AMS detector on the space station. Not your typical publisher background.

Jon will be talking all things innovation at the 46th FIPP World Media Congress, outlining the strategies and processes needed to successfully innovate at one of the world’s biggest media groups. Come and listen to Jon in Cascais between June 4th-6th. PS an Oxford masters in theoretical physics is optional, although openness and a willingness to explore are mandatory!

The Congress programme (on 5 and 6 June) will consist of two channels with individual sessions as well as a number of select panel discussions. You can view the up-to-date speaker list here and the full programme will be announced imminently. Talks include:
