Cascais, Lisbon and Sintra: the perfect backdrop
Many participants (and speakers) choose to extend their stay in Cascais, either before the event or after, and make a full holiday of it. It’s no surprise – the pretty seaside town is bathed in 300 days of sunshine per year and surrounded by architectural and cultural gems.
In fact this is the third year we’ve held FIPP World Media Congress in Cascais, such has been the overwhelmingly positive feedback!
That’s not to mention the Congress venue itself, the Cidadela de Cascais, which had its first stone laid in 1594 and remains one of Portugal’s most famous monuments for its battles against Spanish and French forces, as well as the odd pirate or two.
Cascais is located just a taxi or short train ride from the vibrant city of Lisbon and the magical town of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This trio of locations combines to offer a blend of history, culture, and natural beauty that is as good as anywhere in Europe.
P.S. If you are interested in extending your stay either side of Congress, our event partner, can help you create the perfect break tailored to your needs.
