The current Editor of What’s New in Publishing, Monojoy’s focus is on the very latest in tech innovation and publishing trends.
Esther Kezia Thorpe
Esther is a media analyst, marketer, designer, and co-host of the Media Voices Podcast, a weekly round-up of all the key media news, as well as interviews with guests from top organisations. She writes frequently for What's New in Publishing, as well as editing their popular weekly newsletter and their growing library of reports. She has recently written and designed The Publisher's Guide to Podcasting for WNIP; a comprehensive 50 page report on the challenges and opportunities of podcasts for publishers. Esther is also the founder of the Publisher Podcast Awards, celebrating the best in podcasting from media and publishing businesses.
Damian Radcliffe
Damian Radcliffe is the Carolyn S. Chambers Professor in Journalism at the University of Oregon and a fellow of the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University (to name but one of his numerous fellowships). Damian is a regular writer, commentator and speaker on digital trends, social media, technology, the business of media, and the evolution of journalism.
Simon Owens
Simon Owens is a vastly experienced tech and media journalist who’s written for national publications including US News & World Report, The Atlantic, Scientific American and New York Magazine. Based in Washington, DC, Simon also hosts The Business of Content, a podcast about how publishers create, distribute, and monetize digital content.

A longstanding business journalist, Faisal rose to become Editorial Manager of The CEO Magazine before turning his attention to developments in media and digital publishing. His specialised focus is on the latest revenue generation strategies available to publishers.
Kevin Anderson
Kevin Anderson is the managing producer for digital media at ideastream, a regional public media group in the US with two radio stations, five TV channels and a comprehensive digital offering serving almost 3 m people each month. For more than 20 years, Kevin has worked at the intersection of media and digital transformation, working as a journalist, a senior editorial leader, and an international media consultant.
Peter Houston
Peter Houston is a writer, consultant and trainer working to help publishers build a sustainable multi-platform future. He has run Guardian Masterclasses, spoken at Google’s ThinkPublishing conference and is a judge on several magazine awards. He has written about media for The New Statesman, The Drum, FIPP, and researched and wrote the ‘State of the Media, 2017’ for The Media Briefing.
Chris Sutcliffe
Chris is a freelance journalist whose portfolio includes a weekly media-focused column in UK national title The New European, a stint as News Editor at TheMediaBriefing and bylines at the Guardian, Alphr, The Memo and more. He is the host of the Media Voices podcast and can be often be found tweeting about publishing innovation.
Mary Hogarth
Educator, media specialist, and writer, Mary Hogarth MD of The Magazine Expert Ltd, has more than 20 years’ industry experience. Her consultancy practice specialises in new title launches, audience intelligence, editorial development and sustainable business strategies. She has written numerous articles, three books and has recently embarked on a PhD.

Pete Roythorne is a renowned writer and has written extensively on marcomms, ad tech and IT security, contributing to a wide range of titles, including the Financial Times, Marketing Week and Campaign. He is a founding partner of communications agency three-sixty.
Michael Zeisler
Michael has worked for brands such as Lycos, AOL, Turn and PubMatic, and in the process acquired many years’ experience in the acquisition and strategic handling of online publishers. He has in-depth knowledge of online and offline media, accompanied by a wide overview of publishing across both B2B and consumer sectors. His journalistic speciality is innovation within digital media.

Eric Shanfelt is the Founding Partner of Nearview Media, a consulting firm that helps consumer and B2B media, ecommerce and event companies build their digital business. Over the past 25 years, he has worked with hundreds of B2B, consumer and regional publishers to grow their digital audience and revenues, and improve their platforms and execution.
